Global Flight Training Solutions (GFTS) commences next phase of development at Immokalee Regional Airport

12pm Wednesday 21st August Immokalee Regional Airport Collier County Commissioner Bill McDaniel will perform the official ground-breaking ceremony for the next phase of development.

Established in 2019, GFTS is a growing part of the aviation infrastructure in Collier County.  Building on the ongoing success of the flight training school, GFTS has in recent years expanded into business jet storage facilities, completing the construction of three state of the art  hangers to house the expanding GFTS  air fleet and to accommodate business jet storage in Southwest Florida.

Development has now begun on a further four hangars, adding 40,000 square feet of business jet storage to service growing demand.  Business jet storage generates regular  income streams into Immokalee Regional Airport from leases and fuel purchases.

Founder and CEO  of GFTS Victor Costello said: ‘ We are delighted to move forward with Phase 2 of our hangar development programme at Immokalee. The response to Phase 1 has been very positive and with significant demand in the pipeline commencing construction will enable us to meet the huge demand for business jet storage’.

He added: ‘ We are delighted Commissioner McDaniel will perform the ground-breaking ceremony. Collier County has been ambitious in investment in their aviation strategy, and we are pleased to  participate in the delivery of their objectives, these four new hangers will be a significant asset to Immokalee Regional Airport’

GFTS has been operating in Immokalee Regional Airport since 2019. The flight school employs 15 people and has trained over 200 pilots.  Business jet storage facilities include hangar space for small, medium and large business jets and includes aircraft maintenance facilities onsite.
